help me decide, beta or not beta

i am not so new but i am not that good with the computer. i
have done
several changes to the blog, u can see it at
www.big-pinkin.blogspot.com . i have added a pic on top, and
many
things on the side. i like the way it looks, the only thing
i would
change is if i could turn it into a 3 column blog but the
same or a
very similar design with the same color scheme. i switched
to beta. i
now log in thru beta. but when i changed i had to pick a
layout and i
chose the same one i had, thataway rose. the problem was
that i lost
all the modifications i had made to it so i switched right
back to the
old blogger. since them i use labels and on my sidebad i
added them as
categories, i put them as links on the side.

now i need to decide whether to make the change or not. i
see a lot of
posts on the forum aboutt its advantages but i really dont
understand
what people are talking about. so, when u look at my page,
do u see
things that would be better if i switched? what would be
better? or
easier? and please tell me other reasons why i should
change.

so far i havent promoted my blog, its one of the things i
have pending
and i want to do that. should that also influence my
decision? why?

Some things would be easier:
Categories (labels) will be almost automatic. You just lable
it in the
post editor when you write/edit a post
Moving things around will be a breeze: You drag and drop
page elements
in the Layout
Making a link list will be easier: You don't need to know
HTML except
how to write a URL
Adding things in the sidebar will be easier using the
Layout.
Customization like changing of fonts, colors will be easier.

What will be more difficult:
If you are a bti familiar with HTML, CSS, and like to tinker
with the
template, it will be more difficult as the new template is
completely
different. Hacks will be fewer.

Regarding 3 column template for Blogger beta, if you don't
mind the
color (I like it simple) there is a beta template available.

thanks for answering.
i already have the labels thing because i switched to beta
and then
went back to the old one but i log in thru beta so i can
label things.
i just had to add a link for each individual label on my
sidebar.

im not very good but i can change things using html. i just
try until
i get it right. thats how i added all the things to my blog.
i also
got help from people on this board. but i dont know anything
about
css. and i think i want to add it because it somehow gets
more people
to see my site, i think.

i will switch over one of my tryout blogs to see how
different it is.
but when i switched my main blog, i got scared because all
my mods
disappeared. thanks

loose the counter numbers and the map hits i have? are u
designing a 3

You can experiment by first copying all the CSS that is
under
<style></style> and go from there. If you insert
the same javascript
code for your counter, no data should be lost.

I'm planning to do thisaway rose, in fact I'm on thisaway
series right
now, I'll be done around Christmas at the lastest.

whoooooooohooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! alriiiiiight!!! i ve been
wanting a 3
column thisaway rose since my second day of blogging. i ve
even tried
to change the colors of a rounders 3 columns but i couldnt
do it. im
so glad that u will do this.
i didnt the other part but i will look at the html of my
blog to see
if i can figure it out.

thanks for letting me know about the template. i thought i
was having
problems but it was because i had not switched to beta but
now it
looks fine. i am trying it out on a separate blog, if u want
to check
if its ok, look into my profile and tryinganewdesign.

now i can se that there is something that doesnt look right,
on the
title bar and on the bottom bar on the edges there is
somethings there
that doesnt look right. on my tryinganewdesign blog u can
see it very
clear on the bottom left. i will keep trying it out and if i
see any
other problems i will let u know so that u can perfect it.
