I started a consumer oriented blog and originally just
targeted
towards friends and family. Recently I have placed a couple
of
AdSense panels and of course they immediately started
serving up Ad's
touting the exact kind of business I warn people against.
For
instance I have an on-going dispute with Capital One and
because there
are words and tags referencing Capital One there are Capital
One Ad's
being served up.

I know about the competitor block on AdSense and started to
go that
route. But would it be better to cost Capital One and their
ilk a
little money targeting an unreceptive and in some cases
hostile
demographic?

I guess the question is: if you were visiting a consumer
information
blog or site and see ad's hawking the type of businesses the
site was
warning against would you see it as poetic justice,
hypocrisy, or not
even notice?

BTW, I didn't even notice it till a friend asked me about it
and I
visited my blog with Ad-Block turned off.

Thanks

Promoting them weakens your protest. They are too big to
feel the cost of a
few click-overs. The damage would be greater to you than to
them.
