Where is the blogging software? Where are the tutorials?

Maybe I am utterly thick ... maybe I cannot see what is
staring at me
from the screen, but, having used Dreamweaver, I am
expecting to see a
basic range of functions, some form of editing screen and
things like
'Insert text/image/etc' commands, but see nothing at all!
How do I lay
out the text, insert an image etc? I would also expect to
see some
form of basic tutorial which can be downloaded, printed out
and read
at my leisure, but where is it? I see lots of advice on
features which
one would use on the basic layout, but no information
obviously to
hand, describing the basic functions and how you use them.

Please, please, enlighten me as to where I can find an
idiots guide to
'Blogger'!!!

To blog, if you use Blogger, there is no need to download a
bloggig
software. Everything is done online and free. With Blogger,
if you
know how to email, you can start a blog. It is only when you
want more
that there will be other things to learn,

I am not familiar with Wordpress, but I think if you chose
to host a
blog on your own domain, you will have to pay for it and
also download
a software,

If Blogger interest you, perhaps you may find this useful:

Other bloggers who are relatively new have found this blog

very useful, informative and easy to follow as seen from the
comments
they leave in the blog. You can see an incomplete

Further, a DMOZ editor emailed me saying he found the blog
informative
and have included it in the DMOZ directory. DMOZ is the most
important
directory and the hardest to get listed in. You can read

I have a blog which is using my own domain name, http://www.coolspouse.com. The orginal blogspot name is coolspouse.blogspot.com. What I do is just purchase a domain name from http://youhostyourdomains.com, after you have the domain name purchased and belong to you, log-in to the site that your purchase the domain name and do a redirect. That easy !

I know about custom domain, but am happy to continue to use
blogspot.
See

Reasons: I do not need to bother with fee renewal and if for
any
reason I can't be around to renew any fee, my blogs will
still be on
the web.

Yes, agree with you. Custom domain make your blog look like
your own website. There is no worry on renewal, just need to
set to auto renewal.
