Rc-nut message asking for help was removed because it looks
spammy and
not genuine as he/she posted a new thread with link to
his/her site.
If you are Rc-nut and feel that you have been wrong, start a
new
thread and defend yourself. I am a fair man.

Dear Enviroman (and Rc-nut),

I do appreciate your stance on Rc-nut's message Enviroman,
and that
you have given him/her an opportunity to explain. I tried to
view RC's
blog but got a 404 message. I recall that something about
Rc's blog
URL / or message looked spammy to me too (I can't recall
exactly what
it was that gave this impression).

However, a few experiences I've had online - such as -

1. Having my own blog INCORRECTLY tagged as a spam blog

2. Having myself once been too quick to accuse someone for
spamming -
because they (or someone posing as them) once left an
irrelevant
comment at one of my blogs that contained a link leading to
an equally
irrelevant and poorly designed/worded site that was
DIFFERENT to the
site mentioned in their comment.

3. Having had the experience of my own posts being
misinterpreted as
spam

- have made me see that sometimes it's easy to get it wrong.
It seems
that sometimes there are two sides to the story of spam and
splog
detection and rejection. Recently I was even invited to join
a group
interesting in devising ways to stomp out spam and splogs on
Blogger
precisely because I have had the experience of getting a
"false
positive". It was felt that this experience gave me
another view to
offer to the group.

Therefore I am not trying to defy Enviroman by leaving
messages for RC-
Nut but only trying to give RC the benefit of my doubt -
especially
given that his/her request for help was addressed to me (on
one
occasion at least) and his/her writing that message proved
(at least)
that he/she is not a bot. Also, RC's blog, while it may have
been
"commercial", was (allegedly) a site about how to
make wind turbines
- and to my mind at least - did not sound like the type of
"commercial" blog that usually indicates spam (?)

RC- Nut asked how it went with my blog: Found in Pockets
(the one that
was wrongly tagged as a spam blog)
------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------

In answer to that question Rc-nut (if you're still around)
-
------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------
my blog was today unlocked by blogger. This means that it
was reviewed
and was found NOT to be a spam blog. This whole process took
about two
weeks or so. I finally realised that there was a link right
next to
the red writing on the dashboard explaining that my blog was
frozen
and why.

By clicking on this link I was able to get my blog reviewed
and voila!
no more problems.

I did also write to Blogger Support (before finding this
link). I had
some trouble at the time with writing to Blogger Support as
I wanted
to be able to write a real letter and not just select
answers for
multiple choice questions. The mistake I made was in not
following
through these question pages for long enough, as,
eventually, one does
get to a page where one can write and fully explain the
situation.

I worked this out by reading this post at Blogger Status for
Real:

http://bloggerstatus
forreal.blogspot.com/2006/03/its-called-blogger-support-not-
blogger.html

As you will see from Chuck's post you must keep going until
you've
completed all of these steps (one page per step):

   1. Email address
   2. What are you having trouble with?
   3. Which blog does this affect?
   4. Enter a brief but descriptive summary:
   5. Finally, tell us all about it:

NB. Number 5 in the list above: "Finally, tell us all
about it" - is
the page where you get to write a real letter.

I then began the process of reporting my problem to Blogger
by
following this link (provided within the Chuck's post):

oogle.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=blogger&continue
=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogger.com%2Floginz%3Fd%3Dhttp%253A%252F

RVICE_FLAG&alinsu=0&aplinsu=0&alwf=true&hl=e
n&ltmpl=problem&skipvpage=true&rm=false&show
ra=1&fpui=2&naui=8

I hope something I've written here is a help to you Rc-Nut,
if you are
indeed genuine. As I said, I also clicked on a link I
(eventually)
found on the dashboard under my locked blog title. I do not
know if
this was always there and I missed it or if it was put there
after I
reported having trouble with another link Blogger Support
provided in
an email they sent. But have a look for it - if your blog is
even
still up.

Rc-Nut also asked if I could recommend another blog hosting
service.
So, in answer Rc-Nut - you might try Wordpress, they have
free
accounts although their free ones are not as fully
customisable as
Blogger's free accounts. Wordpress and Blogcity also have
accounts
that carry a fee. I'm not sure of the costs but can
recommend
Wordpress as an excellent blog hosting service, one which,
if I wanted
to pay for a blog, I would choose. As to Blogcity - I sued
to use
their free service (which they no longer offer) and it was
fair - I
cannot comment upon their service that you pay for.

All the best - SJ xx
