OK, Rc-Nut, I was not pointing fingers, but acting on
suspicions which
if it had wronged you, I offer my sincere apologies. OK, you
have your
chance to defend yourself, so I hope you are satisfied that
we are
prepared to listen to reasons.

Regarding hosting on our own, I have been avoiding that like
plaque
(something bad but probably got spelling wrong and will
welcome
correction here) because when you host your own, you have to
worry
about reliability of the web host, security, storage,
bandwidth, etc.

A recent very significant event caused a huge spike in
traffic,
including mine. Many self-hosted blogs went down because
they did not
provide sufficient bandwidth to handle the huge traffic.
With custom
domain (if you want your own domaint) Blogger is so generous
that they
even host it for you for free!!!! Do you find that kind of
generosity
with Wordpress?

Yes, there are advantages of self-hosted Wordpress which I
am not
familiar, but I doubt it is enough for me to migrate to paid
and self-
hosted Wordpress. With New Blogger improving by the days.
New Blogger
is now more robust and itself coming up with new features
plus third
parties are coming up with widgets for those not satisfied
with run of
the mill stuff, hopefully eventually New Blogger will catch
up with
paid Wordpress.
