Google Search on my blog

I want to add Google Search facility on my blog i.e
(http://
everymatter.blogspot.com)

but getting following error

Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed.
Please
make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: Attribute name "checked"
associated with an element
type "input" must be followed by the ' = '
character.

I tried to paste the code at various places in coding part.

Please help.

Looks like you are using New Blogger template in which case
I believe
the way to do it is to add it as a HTML/Javascript Page
Element in the
LAYOUT

(old post, need updating but should help you)

Your mention of error message tells me you are trying to add
it direct
in the template like what we used to do with old classic
template.
