Hi Aaron,
Not that I have the solution , just want to add my 2 cents...
I think the sample scenario you mentioned fits more to folksonomy than
taxonomy. It makes more sense if you label/tag the post as oppose to
classifying it to multiple categories.
I.e. you can post it to category Java, and tag it with "jdeveloper, jboss".
What if you write a post about using JDeveloper _with_ JBoss _on_ OSX
_while_ listening to Bruce Springsteen. Associating the post with 4
different categories will be overkill.
Cheers,
Cliff.

I realize this may be more difficult than it should be, as the categories are physical directories in the filesystem.
However, it would be very handy to be able to post entries to multiple categories.
For example, if I have a Java category, and under that, I have a "Jdeveloper" category and a "Jboss" category.
/ /Java /Java/Jdeveloper /Java/JBoss
Now, under most circumstances, I would create a post that falls to each
category. However, what if I create a post about using Jdeveloper WITH Jboss? Then, I would want to create that post and associate it with both categories.
I do see a plugin about the "Associated Categories", but the details are
sketchy, and I'm not sure how to do it using the MetaBlogger API (i.e. Ecto).
Any feedback?
Thanks! ~~Aaron

Cliff,
I don’t necessarily agree with the “4 different categories being overkill8221; statement. What if you had someone subscribing to only your RSS Feed for OSX? And others, not caring for OSX, only subscribed to the Jdeveloper feed, or Jboss feed?
By cross-posting, you can make sure your “readers” get the post, such as getting “Jboss to run on OSX” or something? That way, readers subscribed to Jboss get it, and subscribers to OSX get it.
Maybe I’m not understanding the label/tag scenario.......
