I have just installed 3.0 on a Mac Intel. The installation
was fairly
straightforward. I got the
latest versions of Tomcat and Java to upgrade from an
earlier version
of Blojsom.
I think I have everything right. However, when I try to
access the
blog for the first time,
I get an 404 error from Tomcat saying that the default blog
is not available.
I reckon then that the problem is in one of the following:
1. Permissions -- I'm assuming the usual setting for
permissions.
Anything special that
might help? Should some of the permissions/ownership be
available to
Tomcat like some have
to be made available to Apache?
2. Ownership -- I installed all of this as root but perhaps
it should
be installed as me as an
administrative user?
3. The db is there in mysql but I am NEVER sure with that
program
that I have the
right identities and passwords. I can see the db with a gui
so I know
it is there but
there is nothing in it suggesting that Blojsom may not be
able to
access it. Any easy
way to check on this?
I've double checked the installation; the programs are
where they
should be. It's just
that Tomcat can't seem to find the blog, I guess in mysql.
Sorry if every other user has been asking these questions. I
just
need to get over this
bump and I think things will be fine.
