My guess is that maybe your Tomcat container isn’t setup to use UTF-8.

Try the following, <http://wiki.blojsom.com/wiki/display/blojsom/Frequently+Asked+Questions#FrequentlyAskedQuestions-i18n>, and see if that doesn̵7;t fix the problem with international characters.

pd. until the blojsom not send to me and email when somebody post a comment (i put the username & pass into properties smtp host) and the logs seems correctly (nothing worng happens...)
