Blojsom installation, can it be setup with plain text files?

In PERL there is a DBI interface for POT (plain old text
files) or more
often CSV files.

Outside of CsvJdbc (http://sourc
eforge.net/projects/csvjdbc/) which is
read-only (bummer) is there a JDBC interface for text files
that would
obviate the need for a full blown database (i.e. mysql or
postgresql)
and the management headache surrounding them?
