Well, really stretch your mind and consider that database
tables still
reside on the filesystem. So, blojsom, indirectly uses the
filesystem as its
content database.

You still stretching?!  Good.

I believe anything is possible. In the previous releases,
there was the
Xstream (XML) backend and I had done some work with the
database. But I
think now more than in the past, the APIs have aligned above
to allow people
to do another backend implementation. And this time really
have it
switchable as in no changes to the codebase other than
changing the fetcher
class name in the Spring XML file.
