My client knows all about WordPress, but corporate policy is to use J2EE. ; Oh joy!  So I am trying to jump through loops, with Blojsom, which at least works with Websphere and Oracle

Does anyone have any ideas how to do this with Blossom:  Share entry, "Social Web", or "E-Mail"

I would be a "software hero" if I could get this working ...

Also, they want a form to accept name and address to be added to the database ...

You might want to take a look at this:
http://wiki.blojsom.com/wiki/display/blojsom
/Social+Bookmark+Buttons

I've played with this in the past, I think you need just a
little tweaking
(not very sure, but they might be 2.x compatible, so you
have to do some
tweaks for 3.x).

About your second problem, I'm not very sure what you want,
but you can take
a look at this to see how you can create static pages like
"about" and
others:

http://wiki.blojsom.com/wiki/display/blojsom/Page+Filter

Ofcourse, I think you have to provide the full backend code
for collecting
the emails. The comments logic could come in handy here...

Also, here: http://mbledug.com
/blog/blog/blog/
Cliffano Subagio seems to have some social bookmarks
implemented.
You might take a look at how he did it with http://www.addthis.com/.

Thanks Arise, Your suggestion to follow the comment logic
confirms what I
was thinking of doing.

You seem to have gotten Blojsom up and running in a
production
environnement?

The Social Bookmark Button wiki page was definitely too old (thanks for pointing out spurl, Otis).
With the existence of addthis.com, I find it much simpler to delegate such functionality to an external service. You only need to add the blog entry to their javascript code.

However, I do like the spiffy shareit plugin that WordPress has. It can be a widget to add to Blojsom.
