| Again, newbie to
blojsom, so I apologize in advance if my questions are to easy.
Oracle10g, Solaris
10, WebLogics 8.1
I read lots of
mention in the wiki and while searching for solutions to my blojsom challenges
about the plugin.properties file located in WEB-INF.
I don't have
this file? I began with the quick start blojsom.war and have tweaked from
there?
Please
advise. |

Check the database table PLUGINS, also the
blojsom.xml and blojsom-plugins.xml file
Unfortunately the doc hasn’;t been
updated since the introduction of a Database (in version 3, I think)
I you haven̵7;t done so already you
might want to download the source code. In the absense of up to date
documentation it is very helpful to eyeball the source code to get an idea of
how things work. I use Websphere Studio and didn’;t have any problems
building the project from source.

David B, I'm guessing you're reading some old wiki page which is relevant to blojsom 2.
AFAIK, plugin.properties is no longer relevant in blojsom 3 and it's 'replaced' by blojsom-plugins.xml .

| Yes, that is exactly what I have been reading and how I
been teaching myself. Is there newer documentation / information pertinent
to 3.x? It seems to so much as changed from 2.x to 3.x that I am not
learning what I need to configure and use it.

The links on the home page are unfortunately pointing to Blojsom2-related documentation. The ones relevant to Blojsom3 are here http://wiki.blojsom.com/wiki/display/blojsom3/About+blojsom
At the moment, the pages within blojsom3/ wiki space are for Blojsom3, and the ones within blojsom/ are for Blojsom2.
I'd say many people were misled when they search for blojsom installation on Google, and the page for Blojsom2 has higher ranking than the one for Blojsom3. Perhaps old blojsom documentation should be moved to blojsom2/ space and let Blojsom3 pages occupy the default blojsom/ space.

I just noticed that http://blojsom.com is redirected to Blojsom3 home page. While http://wiki.blojsom.com still gives the old Blojsom2 home page.
I'm not surprised if some people type wiki.blojsom.com manually and read through old Blojsom documentation.

Actually, the wiki is a mess. You go around
in circles, Blojsom3 redirects to Blojsom2 which redirects back to
Blojsom3. The download link brings you to Sourceforge, but for version 3.1
(current version is 3.2)
It's a pity, because, in my limited experience, its
a pretty good package. It runs on Websphere/Oracle, the source builds
with no problems, and I am learning a lot about blogs and about design patterns
as I work with it. I especially like the use of Spring, the plugin
architecture, and the database access classes. Velocity, ehhh, not so
much.
I was so turned off by the problems with the wiki
that I originally gave up on Blojsom because it almost seems as if the project
has been abandoned.
