Thread: Cannot pair Nokia E61

Cannot pair Nokia E61
country flaguser name
Italy
2007-03-22 10:07:34
I'm trying to connect my Nokia E61 (called 'e61' in
/etc/bluetooth/host
and 'NokiaVic' in /etc/bluetooth/hcsecd.conf, see below) to
a laptop with
the latest 6.2 thru a usb bluetooth dongle.
The bottom line of it is that - form the E61 standpoint -
the phone sees the
computer as 'NbBSD.dom (ubt0)', but it fails to pair upon
introduction of the
pin 0000.
In rc.conf I enabled hcsecd.

Here you are a detailed script ofa long useless session (I'm
connected as
root) that for an expert can be useful to understand what's
wrong with it.

Please help.

Try to uncomment this line in /etc/rc.bluetooth script

        # Enable this if you have trouble with accepting
incomming connections.
        # By default we will try to perform role switch and
become Master on
        # incomming connection (if local device supports
it). Some devices
        # do not support role switch and thus incomming
connection from such
        # devices will fail.

#       $ -n $hci write_node_role_switch 0
    || exit 1

Try to uncomment the this in /etc/rc.bluetooth

        # Enable this if you have trouble with accepting
incomming connections.
        # By default we will try to perform role switch and
become Master on
        # incomming connection (if local device supports
it). Some devices
        # do not support role switch and thus incomming
connection from such
        # devices will fail.

#       $ -n $hci write_node_role_switch 0
    || exit 1

Re: Cannot pair Nokia E61

Unfortunately, after the modification it still doesn't work
here you are the log of the session after the modification
you suggested. I
would like to pinpoint the following

1) l2control: Could not bind socket,
bdaddr=00:12:d2:65:c2:03: Network is down

2) I was able to introduce the pin in my phone only after
issuing:
hccontrol -n ubt0hci write_authentication_enable 1
and
hccontrol -n ubt0hci read_authentication_enable

Nevertheless the phone still says that is unable to connect,
to pair with
NbBSD.domain  (ubt0)
