Hi Teri and others!
I do want to point out that in the Jewish tradition, which
is applicable, flowers are not sent (in Judaic tradition,
people are buried within 24 hours and flowers were
traditionally sent to cover up the body's decay when
burials happened after longer times in other traditions).
My own belief is that cards and notes and even emails will
be of more comfort, though certainly the gesture of flowers
is a beautiful one.
I do not know Rea's financial status as a widow. Perhaps
she will be fine or perhaps she will need help.
The idea of food for shiva is appropriate.
Love,
Marcy
