Hi Maria I am on high doses of Vit. D as recommended by my
dermatologist. What is D3?

D3 is cholecalciferol----the kind our skin makes and the
kind you get from
fish oils

D2 is ergocalciferol is plant based. Most milk has D2 added.

I don't know what the difference is in terms of effect, but
D3 is the
preferred kind. And cheap enough. (But be careful if you
take vitamins A and
D---easy to take toxic doses of A.)

You have a wonderful dermatologist!
