Getting Spam after signing on?

Hello all!

Just a quick question:  Has anyone noticed getting a lot of
Spam after 
signing on to this list?  Yesterday, I changed my options
from No-Mail 
(I've been off for almost 2 months) and today I must have
15 unsolicited 
e-mails.  Is there a connection and is there anything I can
do about it?
