Welcome to the list Mary, although I'm sorry you have need
to be here.
Are they recommending you have a double mastectomy? The
reason I ask is
that you're worried about losing feeling in your breasts
(plural). If
it's just one side, then you'll at least have one with
feeling.
I had a mastectomy 4 1/2 years ago and then last year had
reconstruction
of the removed breast. It hasn't been an easy road, but
there is light
at the end of the tunnel.
This list is full of wonderful warm and caring women and men
(both men
with BC and men with wives who have BC). Ask any questions
you may have,
and you'll get lots of answers. Also, when you're having a
tough time
such as late at night, as this is an International list,
there's always
someone around to read your message and send love and
comfort. We're
here for you.
Hugs,
Gaelyne
