Dear All,

I've noticed that it's almost a year since a new version of
bricolage
was released. I feel that we should probably all pull
together and see
if we can finalise 1.10.3 and get it released.

So I'm going to go through the bugs list in the next couple
of days and
try and pull out all of the bugs which should really be
verified / fixed
from version 1.10.2.

Has any one had any issues using the dev 1.10.3 branch which
are not
either patched or have a bug recorded against them ?

Does anyone have any *minor* improvements they want to get
in 1.10.3 ?

Does anyone have any other issues with releasing 1.10.3 ?

And perhaps most importantly are there any volunteers to
download 1.10.3
from source and try installing it / upgrading clones of
existing
systems to check it's okay ?

regards,

Paul

Hi Paul, thank you for bringing this up.

I could install a test version with a site clone and report
bugs.

Also, was Bricolage 2.0 just a dream or was that what the
summer of
code additions were leading up to?

Hi Paul. A few of us here in Toronto (Dawn, Phillip, me) got
together
last night and were talking about this too.

So: Time for action. I'd be happy to do lots of the
install-install-install-test-test-test stuff. Let me know
when you're
ready for me to take a checkout and I'll get started.

All the best,

Bret

Talk to you soon

Great, let's see what the next couple of days brings in
terms of
comments and bugfixes and we'll then get started on the
testing.

I'm not sure. At some point I'll install trunk and see what
it looks
like. Unfortunately I'm not sure whether all of the
different branches
have been merged in or even whether they are even close to
being ready ?

Paul

I was playing with trunk some last night, and it looks
sweet
due to the UI changes Marshall did, though it's also still
buggy.
I'm not sure which branches are merged yet either. I know
the mysql
one was. I know the element constraint one wasn't. I think
the ajax
one was supposed to be done with the element constraint
one,
though maybe it's already in (the elements are shown nested
in trunk,
so it seems like it's already been merged, but I don't know
if that
was just from other stuff Marshall did).

Thanks.

The constraint branch backend was complete and a good
portion of the front
end. What was left was to hookin with the GUI which was to
be done mainly by
Marshall.

Other then that there was just a few outstanding bug
potentials (infinite
sub container stuff) to consider. Again - none of the
constraint stuff made
it to the trunk.

   Cheers

2.0 Was meant to fix a lot of the serious performance issues
by doing a
redesign of the internals. IMHO we spent too much time on
the design
phase, and never got started coding, so it didn't happen.
Then I pretty
much switched to coding on MediaWiki.

I'm still responsible for making Bricolage work at work, but
have done so
by throwing expensive hardware at it.

Weren't you going to merge it into trunk and work with
Marshall to
get the UI bits updated? As far as I'm concerned, that's the
only
thing really holding up a development release.
