I'm running the bricolage debian package (I believe it's
1.8.6) on
Ubuntu (recently upgraded from Dapper to Edgy).

In both versions, I've found that '/etc/init.d/bricolage-cms
start'
returns a false positive success message. The source of this
is that the
bricolage daemon can't find /var/run/bricolage (and of
course can't
create it). So it dies because it can't create a PID file.

I've tried creating the directory, setting the ownership to
bricolage.bricolage and then setting the sticky bit, but
when the system
restarts, the directory once again disappears.

The cause of the problem is likely shared between Ubuntu and
the
bricolage package. I'm happy to work on a diagnosis and a
patch, but
thought I'd check in first to see whether anyone has any
insight to
offer....

P.S. Vanuatu's national newspaper will soon be online
running on a
bricolage-powered website. Hello from the sunny South
Pacific. 8^)

Ta!
