Install+Run as non-root?

Hi!

Has someone experiences in installing and running Bricolage
completely
without root permissions?

I have already compile practically everything by myself,
Postgres,
Apache, Perl, etc., and I'm able to configure them like I
want.

During install, Bricolage seems to do chmod's that still
need root
permissions. Can I, for instance, switch the chmod's off
during
install?

Furthermore "it" probably does something during
creating the DB in
Postgres. I could imagine that I could install/run my
Postgres as the
same user too.

I could start reverse engineering it by myself, but maybe
someone
already has concrete ideas ...

Thanks,
Steffen

I never tryed installing Bricolage as non-root but i'm
running a test
installation as non-root. I just installed Bricolage to a
seperate
directory, chowned it to the non-root user and run the
apache on a port

I think that this shows where the installer wants root:

   fgrep -r '$>' inst/

As simple as it looks, this hint was really helpful.

Generally: installing and running the PostgreSQL as normal
user was
the most important trick. I added some of my experiences
regarding
this topic into the wiki.

Thanks.
