We ran into an issue w/ a scientific math lib that was a
dependency of something (escapes me) that was either 64-bit
or AMD64 related... I _think_ it may have been something to
do w/ bric_ftp... it was a while ago... point is: it can
matter when you least expect it ;)

Oh no question there are dependencies that matter, but for
Bricolage  
minor updates, it never has that I know of. But hey, the
more tests  
the better.
