Quick question: is there any (easy) way to relate media to a
contributor? E.g., a contributor photo, etc.? I know that it
would be
easy enough to put an img src in a contributor type field
level
element ... but I'm just wondering if anyone's got it so
that media
can be associated directly?
Best,
Phillip.

Looks like you can only add custom fields to contributor
profiles. Could
you create a custom field where you enter the media asset's
ID?

Er. I don't think there's an easy way, but there are ways.
One option,
which turned out to be less painful than I expected, was to
give
contributor photos titles using a strict <$firstname
$lastname>
convention, and just have the template look for the most
recent photo of
type contributor_mugshot that matched the name.
But as for relating media directly, no. Sometimes I've
wondered about
using a story for each contributor, just as a tank for
holding all this
extra stuff.
Cheers,
Bret

We've done that in the past for customers. This can work
well if,
e.g., you want a story for each contributor that contains a
photo,
bio, and a list of the stories the contributor has, erm,
contributed
to. They're usually fixed stories that use the slug in the
URL, so
it'd be something like
/contributors/dawson_bret/index.html.
Best,
David

These are all really great ideas folks. Many thanks Chris,
David, and
Bret. I'll write-up a recipe once I get it working.
