Well in playing with the Ubuntu install, the old prepackaged
version
installs pretty clean in a few steps, with a work around for
the
postgres startup. A couple of commands and Bricolage 1.8.9
is up and
running but without SSL or SFTP. Bricolage 1.10.3 appears
to make
install really well after the install of the cut and paste
package list
from Paul along with some others from the old install. I'm
going to
reinstall it on a clean Ubuntu VM to make sure of all steps
required,
and then throw in the extras like the PHP interpreter.
Here's my
complete transcript of the old Bricolage install on Ubuntu
7.04:

1) apt-get install bricolage

Time for a new debian package? Any volunteer maintainers?
