Databinding DetailsView to objects

I need to bind a control on a form to another control on the
form, however
when I set the DataSource to the instance of the object to
bind to I get
object must implement IEnumerable. IList or IDataSource
What's the best way
to do this. What my real goal is that the object I want to
bind too will
have pseudo properties returned by a custom type descriptor.
