Performance problems on some PCs

Maybe it sounds too obvious, but did you thought of:

L2 cache of server (MSSQL Server and XP: system
properties-> Advanced (tab) ->Performance ->
Advanced (tab)-> Processor usage (caption) pick backround
services,

I have a dutch version of XP so I might have translated
words incorrectly. I have hear of very knowledgable MSSQL
database designers/developers the L2 cache is a significant
factor in database performance, I don't know how big the
performance difference is you're talking about. So my
answer is maybe a wild guess. Please specify performance
differences in a more measurable way. Then I might be able
to pass on your question.
