This is Way OT, but thought I would ask anyway.

We are looking for some inexpensive helpdesk software. The
basic
requirements are:

Tickets can be submitted and viewed online (IIS server, IE
browser)

- would like tickets to be submitted via email as
well

- would like updates to tickets to possible send
email status
changes

Knowledge base for support users

- would like to flag knowledge base as viewable
online as well

Asset Mgt would be great, but not necessary

This is really it.. price is a big factor. Yes, it would be
easy to
write this ourselves, but we have no developer time to spare
for the
foreseeable future.

http://www.blueocean.com/

i've used versions 4 and 5. they are very good ticketing
systems.

-based on MA access and sql (when i used it) (depending
which edition you
buy)
-does asset and auto-inventory very well, links all the
inventory info to
the work tickets
-include knowledgebase functionality (and i think the newer
versions come
pre-loaded with lots and lots of common solutions to windows
& office
problems)

Hi Stacey

http://otrs.org/

It's free (GPL) and looks promising, but I don't have any
experience with it.
