Never came across this particular problem but,
considering the laid-out details of your machine, I'd
advice you upgrade to at least 513MB considering the error
msg. you received. You might want to try first on one
machine to make sure that's the solution to your problem.

We are trying to install the SQLExpress on a couple of
computers
here and the installation through the VS2005 install fails
because of
hardware requirements. We have looked at the requirements
and found that
we meet them. The memory requirement is minimum 192MB but
the
recommended is 512MB. On our computers here, we have 512MB
installed but
I don't think we have the full 512 MB available for use.
Has anyone else run into this problem, and if so, what was
your
solution? One of our solutions is we intend to upgrade the
computers to
1 GB to see if that resolves the problem. Hopefully that
will be the
cure and we can send a note to Microsoft that they should
raise the
memory requirements.
