I found some documentation and built a URL that, when I
enter
it into a browser window's address bar, brings up my PDF
exactly
the way I want it.

However, if I use the <embed> tag to put this URL into
my existing help document, all the configuration specs
in that URL are utterly ignored.

Response.Redirect would work sometimes, but at other
times it would produce a blank page. And when it did work,
we lost the consistent structure of our help pages.

I gave up and turned the PDF into a GIF. Which is a bit
under
half the size, and one of the other developers here has an
image-tuning tool which may reduce it further.
