Actuary Analyst
Location: Birmingham, Al
Salary: $72,000/- + benefits
Responsibilities
Design, develop, maintain, and ensure the quality of the
financial
projection calculations for the in-force illustration
systems.
Design and develop algorithms and reusable system components
to model the
benefits and the hypothetical financial performance of
various fixed,
immediate, and variable annuity contracts and various term,
universal life,
variable universal life, and whole life policy contracts.
Contribute to the product design and pricing processes by
recommending
pricing models and other related mathematical algorithms for
complex product
features.
Tune system performance by developing and implementing
alternate
mathematical methods for financial calculations and other
product-related
features and functions.
Stay abreast of developments in the insurance industry
regarding regulation
of annuity and life insurance product features, annuity and
life insurance
illustrations, solvency requirements, and financial
reporting requirements.
Determine how such developments may affect current and
future implementation
initiatives and overall systems architecture and
requirements.
Develop actuarial requirements for other product-related
systems such as the
contract and policy administration systems.
Provide annuity, life insurance, and other related actuarial
consultation to
various implementation and systems development teams.
Provide consultation to programmers and business systems
analysts on project
tasks. Provide training on general annuity and life
insurance principles as
well as specific features of annuity and life insurance
products.
Continually seek to improve the product development and
implementation
processes from concept to delivery.
Requirements
Life insurance industry experience including systems
analysis and
development and one or more of the following; actuarial
product development
and/or actuarial financial reporting. College Degree in a
related field.
Preferred skills include; Associate of the Society of
Actuaries, Microsoft
Certified Solution Developer, object oriented and/or .NET
programming
experience.
