Required Skills/Experience:

§         Masters Degree and five years of experience or
Bachelors
degree and seven or more years of experience.

§         Telecoms/protocols experience

§         Strong knowledge of modern/standard C++ and at
least one
other programming language

§         Expertise in interfacing with and administering
Oracle
databases, and knowledge of at least one other DBMS.

§         Database performance/scalability optimization
experience

§         Ability to enhance requirements in collaboration
with
systems engineers

§         Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and
in writing

§         Good understanding of configuration management
issues and
tools

§         Background in design and development of
"lights out"
server applications

§         Extensive experience of unit testing and other
test
techniques

§         Experience developing software for Unix-like
platforms
(ideally Solaris)

§         Experience programming distributed systems

§         Ability to work alone or collaboratively

§         Strong desire to continue developing and updating
skills



Desirable:

§         Experience with the Boost or proposed TR1 C++
libraries

§         Solaris systems administration experience

§         Experience of writing scripts (e.g., sh, Perl,
Python)
