• Perform a feasibility study on the ability and
effectiveness of the Microsoft Team Foundation Server/Visual Studio Team System
in the effective testing of client /server applications using Windows Forms and
Oracle forms. This study will address the ability of MS TFS to test these
applications.
• Assist and/or manage the
following:
* Immediate review and development of test cases and
test scripts for automated regression and performance testing using Microsoft
Team Foundation Services—there are hundreds of scenarios to test/automate; users
are segmented into 5 separate groups with distinct access rights to information.
* Development of performance tests designed to test
response times of applications with up to 400 simultaneous users—target is 2-5
second response—with the aim of understanding the load and performance impact on
the databases.
* Work with a diverse group of IT professionals to
record & deliver performance issues within a diverse IT
environment.
* Write Test Plans, Conditions and Scripts for various
functions for Internet based applications
* Record and track defects
* Provide daily status of issues and progress during
testing of applications
* Regularly attend business and developer meetings to
gather testing criteria as well as relaying current testing
concerns
Provide thought leadership in the areas of Quality
Assurance, Testing Strategy and Automation
development
• Conduct assessments of project automation and
performance testing feasibility
• Develop project Automation and QA
documentation
• Provide test team supervision and manage project
workflow to preset deadlines
• Provide performance and automation feedback on
technical issues to management
• Develop and improve on existing automation testing
technologies, including methods, approaches and
execution
• Contributes to technical development of client
team
Required
Skills/Background
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished
in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to represent and communicate with a diverse
population
• Experience or in-depth knowledge of a variety of
automation packages (Segue, Mercury, and Rational) as well as “home grown”
automation.
• Experience with multiple platforms – Windows, Unix,
Linux, Mainframe
• Understanding of enterprise technical issues, e.g.
networking, database, Internet, etc., demonstrated expertise in a specifically
marketable technical skill set.
• Advanced understanding of testing
standards/methodologies and/or industry testing principles and test tools and
demonstrated research skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and
confidentiality with proprietary information
• Knowledge of basic HR policies and
principles
• Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office
suite including Word, Excel, Visio, and Project
• Strong working knowledge of current market
technologies, an understanding of software development lifecycles and
understanding of quality assurance practices, principles and methodologies is
required.
• Must possess knowledge of client/server technology,
hardware and networked applications, interactive media, enterprise solutions and
environments
