Project Description: Provide direction for Warehouse Architecture that supports the business information needs
Accept full responsibility and accountability for the DW Architecture and design activities, identifying areas of risk during the development process and driving out solutions, which can be implemented to eliminate or reduce any risk. Collaborate with the project teams to establish overall direction to ensure the needs of all projects are met. Communicate with team members and other stakeholders in a timely and effective manner in order to keep them apprised of architecture status and relevant issues of interest to, and impact on, the clients and their business areas.

MAJOR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Progressive experience with the Data Warehouse Architecture, Data Warehouse Decision Support design and application deployment.
- 5 years experience with Erwin.
- 4 years experience with Oracle 8I or 9I dimensional databases.
- 4 years experience with Data Warehouse database query optimization and materialized views.
- 3 years experience in the financial Services industry,

- ETL and process specification experience.
- Application process modeling, data flow experience.
- Knowledge of logical and physical warehouse data design.
- Strong technical, problem solving and team skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to document work steps and present findings to both clients and the technical team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Database design.
- Analyze queries with database performance analysis utilities (Explain Plan, etc.).
- Optimize query performance by defining a) appropriate indexes & b) an appropriate system of summary tables.
- Work with ETL team to specify load processes and materialized view definition.
- Work closely with DBA*s to resolve major issues (such as problems that require the application of Oracle patches and upgrades).
- Respond to data quality and consistency concerns expressed by the user community.
- Capture and run user queries and critically examine the results.
- Work with the ETL team as necessary on more extensive data verification that cannot be resolved by analyzing the databases.
