The CISSP certification is definitely more respected and valued.
Security+ is entry-level for security and is more
technical/operationally focused. The CISSP certification is more
management focused but some technical background is highly
recommended.
Take a look at the DoD 8750.1 -- security certifications will
definitely be in more demand.
I would go for your Security+ first and then go for your CISSP. Make
sure you check out the professional experience requirements for the
CISSP certification though.
