It seems like every single time I try and do anything with ISC2, including simple
obligations to membership and CISSP certification like paying for my membership and
reporting CPE, ISC2 just does not deliver. The following email thread case in point. This
was sent to an email address that was initiated from a link in an email survey request that
ISC2 sent to me. They are really starting to look unpolished and are failing in almost every
aspect of customer service.
Is anybody else out there noticing this, or is it just my experience?

: Re: Official: CISSP SURVEY - Your Participation is Requested
Hello.
I tried to login to the survey a few minutes ago and the screen as viewed in the attached
file appeared.
I have never logged in to this survey before.
Aside from the survey, I would like to frankly share my opinion about ISC2.
But I hope the following really does get to somebody in 'management' at ISC2.
Over the past couple of years, as a member of ISC2 and ISACA, I must say that in terms of
service levels and 'customer' support, ISACA is bounds
ahead of ISC2. Furthermore, the CISSP certification has been drastically de-valued in Japan
since just about all NTT Data
employees have tested for, and about a third have attained, the CISSP credential without
any security experience at all. Some of these CISSPs, including
one of the proctors for the exam, have outright admitted of not having any security
experience to four CISSPs sitting at a table having lunch.
For an organization with such a huge beurocracy and such political turmoil, quite little is
offered to the supporters of the organization.
No magazine, very few newsletters, no regular local meetings outside of a gathering of
NTT and NTT Data employees. Also,
I have the view that the organization's commercial independence is in question in Japan
for reasons outlined above.
Just sharing my opinion as a concerned member.
Regards,

Dear Valued Certified Information Systems Security Professional:
As you likely know, (ISC)2 continually evaluates and updates its CISSP certification
examination content to ensure the credential is
current and relevant and that the CISSP remains the most widely respected information
security management credential in the world.
Therefore, we would like to extend to you the opportunity to participate in a CISSP online
job analysis study we're conducting with
assistance from Schroeder Measurement Technologies, Inc. (SMT), (ISC)2's services entity.
The survey will remain open through April
4, 2008.
You have been selected from the population of CISSP certificate holders to participate in
the survey because you represent the
target population of information system security professionals. Your responses are valued
and essential. We ask that you set aside
20 to 30 minutes of your time no later than 5:00pm (17:00) EDT on Friday, April 4, 2008,
to complete the online survey. By
participating, you're automatically entered in a drawing for a US$100.00 gift certificate to
the (ISC)2 Store. It's our way of
showing our appreciation for your valuable time and input. We will randomly select the
winner after the survey is completed.
As the survey is hosted by SMT on behalf of (ISC)2. we can assure you that it has been
secured and that the information you supply
will remain confidential.
