RE: Disaster Recovery Strategy,

Disaster Recovery is a subset of Business Continuity Plan. Thus to develop a Disaster Recovery Strategy, you have take into consideration what has been spelt out in the BCP. That includes a thorough knowledge of the Business Impact Assessment and all the risks involved in your business not being able to continue in business in the case of disaster.

In addition a risk assesment/analysis has to be engaged on the type of Disaster recovery option that you intend to embark on to see if the option  taken is the most feasible and will also serve the purpose in the event of a real disaster. In essence a holistic approach should taken to involve the risk of involving or not involving for example third parties and municipal authorities e.t.c ;

Can we say risk managment covers disaster recovery strategy?
