Title: Systems Support

Duration: 09 Months

Location: CA

Rate: $50 C2C

 

 

This position is located in Folsom, California and a member of Application Services supporting the CalWORKs Information Network (CalWIN) project. CalWIN is a very large highly visible statewide development project within the Welfare Client Data System (WCDS) organization consisting of 18 California counties. This position will support the CalWIN application batch cycles. The CalWIN Batch team has operational responsibilities for planning, scheduling, monitoring and troubleshooting applications executed during the batch cycle. This team supports a 24/7 production environment and will require working weekends, holidays, and nights if necessary. In addition, this position involves communication and coordination with clients, developers, database administrators, EDS data center staff and partners.



PREREQUISITES/SKILLS:

- Knowledge of CA-7 and TNG Workload Scheduler a plus.
- Strong Knowledge of unix shell scripting
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office a must.
- Knowledge of batch processing support (preferred one or both of: MVS or UNIX).
- Knowledge of external interfaces
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with a variety of partners and clients with different skill sets.
- Ability to schedule and process batch cycles/jobs (includes 24/7 and on-call support).
- Ability to review batch cycle loads.
- Ability to coordinate modifications and updates to batch cycles.
- Ability to anticipate issues and create proactive solutions.
- Ability to accurately estimate project tasks and timelines.
- Ability to foster solid client relationships.
- Ability to balance multiple concurrent assignments.
- Ability to interact with applications development and operations support teams for both development and production problem resolution.
- Ability to fully document work and comply with project policies, processes and procedures.
- A willingness to learn the CalWIN Application.
- Highly organized.
