we are currently looking out for QA Testers for on of our financial client in Stamford, CT.

 Job Specification:

 

Technical Skills:

 

 UNIX:

 

a) Good working knowledge of the UNIX Operating System.

b) Working knowledge of an editor.

c) Knowledge of UNIX commands and the ability to pipe them together to form complex commands.

d) Knowledge of scripting language like K-Shell, Perl, Python, Tcl/Tk, etc.

e) Candidate doesn't have to be an expert but should have the ability to understand basic scripts, be able to run and modify them and write some simple scripts.

 

 SQL:

 

a) Candidate must be capable of defining his/her own complex queries to use in driving or verifying *server-side test cases*.

b) Candidate should be capable of reading and understanding stored procedures.

 Automated Testing:

 

a) Experience with Third Party Automated Test Tools, like Quick Test Pro, Winrunner, Loadrunner, Silk, etc.

 

J2EE:

 

a) Familiarity with J2EE.

b) Familiarity with JUnit.

 

 Windows:

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.

 

 a) Able to articulate defect scenarios clearly and concisely to Developers, Project Managers and Business Sponsors.

b) Capable of conveying project status in verbal and written formats to the Project Team.

c) Candidate should be capable of creating a detailed test plan that has specific content that explains the project, not just a boiler-plate form.

 

 SDLC:

a) Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle from both a theoretical and   practical perspective.

b) Knowledge of defect lifecycle and a defect-tracking tool like Test Director.

 

 Quality Assurance:

c) Experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst with sole responsibility for small to medium sized Development Projects.

d) Experience with generating Test Plans for small to medium sized Development Projects.

 

Experienced with Middle and Back-Office Securities, derivatives, investments, trade Processing.
