CVSROOT, WinXP and WinCVS

I am running Windows XP with SP2.

We have used WinCVS 1.3 for many years, but now we have to
upgrade to the 2.x version.

In WinCvs 1.3.17.2 Preferences under the General tab:

  CVSROOT Data
Authentication: sspi [Settings: do not check Encrypt all
client - server communications]
Path: /dailyrepo (or /cvsrepo for release directory)
Host address: cvs (IP or DNS name)
User name: jpool (login)
CVSROOT: jpoolcvs:/dailyrepo

Now, using 2.0.2.4, no one can log into CVS. The General
Tab has been removed, and we are trying to follow the help
instructions that say to use the Command Line options to
specify the CVSROOT, but nothing we try is working.

Using the Windows Command Line "cmd" (i.e. the
DOS prompt), I can still log into the CVS repository with
the command:

  set CVSROOT=:sspi:jpoolcvs:/dailyrepo

So how do I do this using the new WinCVS?
