pserver - PW auth. failed, Access denied for user xyz / Using CVSNT

Hello,
i want to connect to my local rep on Win with pw
authentication using
the pserver protocol. As described in the CVS Help i created
the
passwd file in the CVSROOT dir with the following content: 

myuser:mypassword

Every time i get the messge ...

cvs [login aborted]: authorization failed: server localhost
rejected
access to /dev/myrep for user heinz

Is there is something i've missed. Are there more file
involved with
password authentication ?
