A fix for this issue was committed by William Rowe on apr
trunk in r424915. 

The fix was merged to the apr 0.9.x branch in r424917, so
it'll be included in
apr 0.9.13.

The fix was merged to the apr 1.2.x branch in r424916, so
it'll be included in
apr 1.2.8.

So, as far as I'm concerned, this issue is solved.
