SOCKS is often used by having run-time wrapper software
which redirects network
communication through the proxy without needing any code
changes in the programs
being used. Is there some reason why this method isn't
satisfactory?


Integrating SOCKS support in the ra_svn protocol client code
would be
theoretically possible but seems like a lot of unnecessary
work when an
interceptor/wrapper can make it work with SOCKS without any
coding effort.
