Job Description:

Currently looking for a contractor for approximately six months to assist with Mainframes IMS and DB2 Systems Programming/Engineering. 

This person will need to be able to work a variety of shifts that will include weekends. 

They need to live in Columbus Ohio during the contract as many of the activities we need assistance with include onsite support of conversion command centers.

All of these command centers are supported out of Columbus, Ohio.

Note from the Client:

·         Just for qualification we do not want or need a DBA, Data Base Administrator. 

·         We are looking for someone that supports the infrastructure of the IMS and DB2 environments. 

·         We need them to be able to monitor using Mainview or Omegamon tools. 

·         Understand performance and tuning of these environments. 

·         We truly need someone that has skills in both DB2 and IMS. 

·         We need a high skilled senior person in these areas.

Additional skills details: 

Ø       Perform level III problem diagnostics and resolution. Monitor systems performance and tune when appropriate.

Ø       Provide input to management on infrastructure architecture related issues.

Ø       Use performance reports/metrics to identify improvement opportunities.

Ø       Conduct Production Readiness Inspections of change events, assessing impacts and risks.

Ø       Develop wellness check scripts, processes and procedures.

Ø       Contribute to Root Cause Investigation. Document changes to infrastructure configuration.

Ø       Update system configuration and resource definitions when required.   ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;      

Ø       Resolve complex problems.

Ø       Proactive monitoring, tuning, performance of subsystems.

Ø       Research, determine and execute installation and maintenance procedures for DB2/IMS software and related software products.

Ø       Project lead for planning, installing coordinating, administering all DB2/IMS zOS software upgrades.

Ø       Plan, prepare and execute system disaster recovery procedures.  ;           ;           ;           ;           ;           ;     

Ø       Dump analysis and problem resolution          ;     
Installation, support and performance tuning of DB2/IMS           ;       

Ø       Install and evaluate vendor products and software       ;           ;
