Google Maps (www.google.com) shows a map on the right of the
window,
and a column of text down the left side. There's supposed to
be a tiny
blue arrow on the line dividing them; one clicks this arrow
to turn off
the text column and allow the map to use the full width of
the
window. But Camino doesn't show the arrow, so I can find no
way to
turn off the text column. Can anyone advise? (Firefox does
show the
arrow...)

Camino 1.1b under Panther.

_IF_ I take Firefox and spoof the User-Agent to be:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US;
rv:1.8.0.7)
Gecko/20060911 Camino/1.0.3

then, as you said, that vertical strip where there is a
pointy-finger
allowing expansion of map ..... is _not_ there

If I take Safari, I get the arrow and functionality of that
vertical frame.

If I take Camino and tell it to tell Google-Maps that it is
actually
Safari, then the functionality of the map is normal.

My conclusion? Call Google and 'splain to them that their
code has
forgotten a great browser with a lot of great people ...

Lol, I wondered how you turned that off. (That means I also
observe this,
or rather, don't observe this ... whatever.)

This is another example of busted browser-sniffing; Google
is only
showing the arrow to Firefox user-agents, not to all Gecko
user-agents (browsers). You should provide feedback to the
Google
Maps people and let them know the browser-sniffing they are
using to
determine whether to show that line is busted, pointing them
to
<http://geckoisgecko.org&g
t; for more info.
