Campsite 2.7 + Campcaster for podcasts?

We are looking to add podcast integration into our
publication. I saw that in 2.7 that there is support for
campcaster audio files. Is there anything to gain by using
campcaster for just serving up the podcast files? We are on
a server, so I am assuming that the gui for campcaster
useless to us. When does 2.7 come out officially?
