add new user type

Dear all, 
I just installed campsite
plus the demoset 1

- 1 - I am trying to work with campsite.  I am found a
problem wen 
adding a new user type.  It just does not work
I tried to add a user type called "freelance"
and nothing happens.  I looked at the table UserTypes and
there is no colomns with freelance on it.

- 2 - Is there a check list somewhere to validate if the
installation is OK?  I am a little dry on it

Any Ideas?
