Hi all!
I've been following the Catalyst tutorial and found a few
errors. The attached
patch aims to fix them. It is also available at:
http://www.shlomifish.org/Files/files/code/perl/catalys
t/
I hereby disclaim any implicit or explicit copyrights for
the patch, and put
my contributions under the Public Domain. Crediting me would
be appreciated,
but not absolutely necessary.
Regards,
Shlomi Fish

This is a reminder that I submitted this patch about three
weeks ago, and did
not receive any input on it.

Apologies. I applied the parts of the patch that were
typos, but I
had trouble with the other parts. There may have been
corrections to
errors there but they were comingled with things that were
purely
subjective style improvements, so I dropped these. It
didn't seem to
be worth while pursuing it further at the time for a variety
of
reasons.

Shlomi,
Thanks for the input.
Kieren,
Thanks for applying that.
Everyone,
I started working on an update to the docs a few months ago
and got
completely swamped with multiple projects at work. :-(
Primary focus
was adding in FormBuilder, but I was hoping to freshen
things up a bit
end-to-end. I hope to get back to it in late July or first
half of
Aug... all depends on how quickly I can wrap up these
projects with
tight deadlines. Sorry for the delay.
I know we had some discussion FormBuilder vs. Reaction 5-ish
months
ago when I started the update and decided that it was better
to go
with FormBuilder now and hold off on Reaction. Has enough
time gone
by that I should jump right to Reaction?
Thanks,
Kennedy

Here's something you missed - "when you are done"
appears in one sentence
twice. This patchlet corrects it.
Oh and you should populate svn:ignore appropriately there,
as at the moment
there are a lot of "?" files.
And the corrections that weren't applied, was trying to
correct the
description of the behaviour that occured after following
the tutorial. As I
could tell, it didn't behave the way the tutorial described
and it was
evident from the code that was introduced there.

I vote formbuilder. It's been around for a while and seems
to be the
best traditional solution to the problem. I suspect that as
well as a
comparitive immaturity Reaction also comes with cognitive
overhead
that makes it unsuitable for a beginners Catalyst tutorial.
