I agree with you, I think there's no exactly translation to
Vendor
("Vendedor"?). In this case, it might be
"Fornecedor Original", or
"Provedor do Código Fonte", or even "Galinha
dos Ovos de Ouro".

And I think there's no translation to Upstream.

Hummm, "rio acima" ? lol

No, Vendor is not "Vendedor", it is closer to
"Provedor de Serviços"
(service provider) on my experience. Actually, someone
closer to
"3rd party service provider" (I know, it sucks).

Another option (for the translation in question) would be
"Originador".
