*CCNP Lab* (CCNA/CCNP forum)

notorious1977 writs:
"I have recently passed the CCNA exam. CCNP now is in
the menu.
Everyone agrees that practice is essential and, since I
don't have
any, it would be nice if I could build my own lab. Please
advise
me about the equipment that I need to purchase, the IOS,
maybe
ISDN/DSL simulators, considering, of course, the new
objectives.

P.S. What about rack rentals?"

*Secure Sites Very Slow* (Cisco - Real World forum)

packet writes:
"I just finished a job for a customer of mine with two
8100 series
routers. Customer has two buildings, a main building and a
remote
building, which connected via a PTP T1. Everything is
working fine
except the fact that secure Web sites are taking a long time
to
load. Internet at both ends is working fine, as well. Just
seems to
be a problem with SSL sites loading very slowly. Any
advice?"

*Suggestions for Small Office Network* (Cisco - Real World
Forum)

blargoe writes:
"I am finally being given the green light to replace
the network
equipment for my primary customer in my part-time,
after-hours
consulting business. This customer actually owns two
distinct
companies so it's actually two customers.

I could go on for pages about how we got in the situation
we're in
but I'll skip that for now. It is a small office environment
with 15
users likely to increase to 25 or more soon, plus the second
company
is on a different network with up to 5 people working at any
given
time of the month. The network is currently a patchwork of
several
old crappy netgear switches, one Linux router built from PC
equipment
they had lying around (which serves as firewall, spam
filtering, the
boundary between the two businesses' networks, and the
Internet
gateway for both networks), a couple of Windows servers,
user PCs
and network printers. ..."

*Boson CCNP Netsim?* (CCNA/CCNP forum)

Detectorist writes:
"The new release is V6. This thing costs $499. Is it
worth it? I
can almost buy the equipment for that price."
