Subject: [FW-1] Solaris upgrade

Dear List

I took a Solaris upgrade_export output file from an R55
managment station
(only) and used it as the configuration file when running,
on a new Solaris
system, the installation of NGX R60. However, when doing
this, for some
reason, the Solaris installer has installed both management
and firewall
enforcement point, and did not give me the option of just
installing the
management station.

This management station controls a pair of Nokias, and once
the licencing
was changed and added, all works fine. I have to run a fwm
unload localhost
on the management station before I can push policies though.

Is there a way of removing the firewall enforcement point on
the Solaris box
- or at least disabling it completely ?

Thanks

Thanks for the response, the component is unchecked, still
does not stop the
local firewall from starting

There is no policy etc on there, just the default drop

Neil,
  1) Use cpclean to clean your solaris system.
  2) Install NGxR60 and just select the Smartcenter ONLY.
I've done it many times
as late as 5 minutes ago. Look carefully. It does
give you the option of installing
       just the management Server only.
  3) Use upgrade_import to import your configuration.
